Role description
Woodland Outdoor Kindergartens is an outdoor kindergarten where children spend on average 6 hours every day outside in local woodland, playing and learning. Woodland Outdoor Kindergartens is a private nursery that works in partnership with Glasgow City Council. We have two outdoor kindergartens; one located in Glasgow Southside and the other in Glasgow West End.
Woodland Outdoor Kindergartens is looking for a new Deputy Manager to join the team at our Glasgow West End Kindergarten. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate, dynamic, and successful team.
Role Available:
Deputy Manager (Full Time)
Permanent 37 Hour Contract
Working hours are 8am-6pm.
Four day work week
Potential Start Date: October 2024
Essential Skills:
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
Strong understanding of early years education and outdoor learning
Ability to engage and interact with young children and their families
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Ability to work professionally and co-operatively with parents/carers and staff
Understanding of and commitment to child-led learning

Essential Qualifications:
One of the following qualifications or currently working towards:
BA Childhood Practice (University of Glasgow)
SQA Professional Development Award Childhood Practice (360 credits at SCQF Level 9)
BA (Hons) Childhood Practice (Strathclyde University)
Graduate Diploma in Childhood Practice (University of the West of Scotland)
Postgraduate Diploma in Childhood Practice
Master of Education Childhood Practice (University of Glasgow)
Proven experience in a leadership role within an early years education setting
Experience in outdoor-based setting
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in outdoor learning and nature-based education methodologies
Froebelian practice-based knowledge
FOLA trained
