Sarah Goldsmith

Sarah is a passionate advocate for children’s play and children’s rights and is currently the Vice Chair and the International Representative for IPA (International Play Association) Scotland.

With a degree in Playwork, and an MA in Childhood and Youth Studies, Sarah has managed out of school care settings, worked on adventure playgrounds, and as a play ranger. She has worked extensively with Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, working with them to provide respite from their caring responsibilities by providing social opportunities through play and leisure.

Currently, Sarah is also a part time Childhood Practice Lecture at West College Scotland and recently completed a PhD exploring primary school aged children’s lived experiences of toys and gender.

Sarah is looking forward to working on the All-Aged Childcare Outdoor Play and Learning Project and getting to know lots of people and organisations in Glasgow.
